Black Lightning is an American superhero-drama action television series that aired on The CW from January 16, 2018, to May 24, 2021. The series was created by Salim Akil and developed by Mara Brock Akil. It starred Cress Williams as the lead role Jefferson Pierce, who was forced to become a vigilante again following his nine-year retirement.
On April 2, 2018, The CW renewed Black Lightning for a second season, which aired from October 9, 2018, to March 18, 2019.[1] On January 31, 2019, the series was renewed for a third season, airing from October 7, 2019, to March 9, 2020. On January 7, 2020, it was renewed for a 13-episode fourth and final season, which premiered on February 8, 2021, and concluded on May 24, 2021.[2]
