The fourth season of Riverdale premiered on The CW on October 9, 2019, and concluded on May 6, 2020. It was announced on January 31, 2019.[1]

The season aired on Wednesday nights at 8:00 PM prior to Nancy Drew.

It arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on September 22, 2020.

Production began in July 2019 and was scheduled to conclude in April 2020.[2]

On March 11, 2020, production was shut down indefinitely due to coronavirus concerns.[3]

Trivia[]

  • A crossover episode with Katy Keene aired on Wednesday, February 5 at 8:00 PM, one day prior to the series premiere.[4]
  • This was to be Marisol Nichols and Skeet Ulrich's last season.[5][6]
    • However, due to the production of the last three episodes of the fourth season being halted and moved to season 5, they will in fact be returning for the fifth season.[7]
      • On June 12, 2020, Marisol Nichols said she would be returning to season 5, and that Hermione "will be back stronger and better than ever" and that she is "really excited in telling [Hermione's] story and that side of her."[8]
