The eighth and final season of Arrow premiered on The CW on October 15, 2019, and concluded on January 28, 2020. It was announced on January 31, 2019.[1]
The season aired on Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. following The Flash in the fall, and at 8:00 p.m. prior to DC's Legends of Tomorrow in January.
It arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on April 28, 2020.
On March 6, 2019, lead actor Stephen Amell announced, via Twitter, that the eighth season would be the series' last and would consist of 10 episodes.[2]
Synopsis[]
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, Oliver successfully saved his city with the help of his team including former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, former protégé Roy Harper, street-savvy Rene Ramirez, metahuman Dinah Drake, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt and Earth-2 Laurel Lance. In the wake of discovering what his future holds, Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance. In Arrow’s final season, Oliver Queen is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a hero.[3]

- On August 8, 2019, Colton Haynes confirmed that he would not be returning to Arrow as a series regular for the final season.[6]
- However, on October 3, 2019, it was announced that Haynes would be returning in a recurring role instead.[7]
- On November 8, 2019, it was announced that a one-hour-long special would air before the series finale.[8]
